Semi-Detached was created while living in a duplex in Tallahassee, where I began to focus deeply on the housing structure and consider the intimacy of the space and the shared wall. The installation included drawings exploring boundaries, ephemeral paper sculpture. The mundane nature of materials in her work: discarded trimmed edges of paper, cardboard, and tape, all work together to serve as a metaphor for infrastructure and quick nature of building. The work puzzles over power relations and importance of place.
